Platinum (Pt) Crucible


The platinum crucible most offer be used in XRF (x-ray fluorescence) sample preparation, ash testing, wet chemistry, and Loss on Ignition (LOI) applications.


* The platinum can prohibit contamination at high temperatures up to 2192°F (1200°C); 

* Platinum crucibles with 5 percent gold contain melting points of 1670 to 1750 °C;

* Platinum crucibles containing 3.5 percent or 10 percent rhodium have melting points from 1780 to 1850 °C;

* The Pt crucibles offer high temperature strength and high melting point;

* Platinum offers oxidation resistance in air and oxygen; 

* Virtually chemically inert;

* Corrosion resistance in acids and melted salts.


Gold (Au) Crucible


The Gold Crucible has excellent performances in high-temperature resistance, anti-oxidation, corrosion resisting, abrasion resistance, good

conductivity, and thermal efficiency. It can be hermetically sealed through cold welding. The maximum temperature is 350°C and the

permissible pressure is 0.3 MPa.


The gold crucible is mainly used in fields like powder sintering and metal smelting in metallurgy, chemical industry, and glass and used as the 

dewatering and various grinding elements in the papermaking industry.


Nickel (Ni) Crucible


High resistance to dilute alkalis at low cost. Used for sodium peroxide fusions in the analysis of zirconium. Also used in analyses for niobium, 

tantalum, or low levels of phosphorus. Now can produce 30ml, 50ml, 80ml and 100ml volume. 


* Very low oxidization in air;

* Temperatures up to 1112°F (600°C);

* Used for assays with NaOH or Na2O (this would attack porcelain);

* Good resistance to alkali and seawater;

* Excellent resistance to damp chlorine and gaseous hydrochloric acids;

* Low resistance to organic, hydrochloric, sulfuric and diluted nitric acids.
